Greenwich Citizens Advice Bureau

Volunteer

What You Need to Know

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Greenwich Citizens Advice Bureaux Service, but please read this information on volunteering BEFORE completing the On line Application.

As a registered charity providing a local service, we target our volunteering opportunities to local residents. This means that volunteer applications are only accepted from residents of the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

If you do not live in the borough, we shall direct you to your local bureau or the website www.citizensadvice.org.uk which you can visit to find your local bureau.

We recruit volunteers in a number of roles and these include Administrators, IT Assistants, Social Policy Workers, Volunteer Advisers and Trustee Board members. Have a look at the role descriptions to see if one of them appeals to you.

The role of a volunteer is an important and valuable one and we could not operate a service without them.

Volunteering for us does mean committing a specific number of hours on agreed days of the week, working with the rest of the bureau team to provide the best service to the community.

If you decide that you would like to continue with your application, you will be invited for an interview which generally includes undertaking a task to demonstrate your ability to fulfil the role for which you are applying. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions about what is involved, the training and how the service operates.

You should also realise that volunteering is a two way street and we need to be satisfied that you are the right person for our service too, and that not all applications to join the service are successful.

If you have decided that this type of volunteering is for you, please complete the on–line application as fully as possible and submit.

I shall look forward to hearing from you.
